How to Screen Resumes 10x Faster with AI: The Complete ResReader Guide

Finding the right candidate shouldn't mean spending hours reading through hundreds of resumes. ResReader uses AI to automatically analyze, score, and rank candidates — so you can focus only on the people who truly fit.


Step 1: Create a Job Posting

Click "Create Job" to get started — a draft is automatically saved so you never lose your work.

Job Description

Write your job description using the built-in Markdown editor. Detail the position's requirements, responsibilities, and qualifications all in one description field:

  • Formatting toolbar — Bold, italic, headings, lists, tables, code blocks
  • AI Chat Assistant — Helps you write or improve your description
  • Live preview — See exactly how it will look as you type

Tip: Use the AI Chat Assistant to generate a professional job description. Describe the role in your own words and let AI handle the rest.

AI Analysis Configuration

You're not just posting a job — you're configuring an AI recruiter:

  • Custom Prompt — Tell the AI exactly what to look for in candidates. For example: "Prioritize candidates with React and TypeScript experience. Job hopping with less than 1 year at each position should be flagged negatively."
  • Follow-Up Questions — Additional questions automatically sent to candidates after their resume is analyzed
  • Interview Re-Analysis — When enabled, AI re-evaluates candidates after they complete an AI interview, combining resume and interview data for a more complete picture

Publish or Save as Draft

  • Save Draft to continue working on it later
  • Activate Job to start receiving applications
  • Toggle between active and paused status at any time

Step 2: Upload Resumes

Once your job is active, upload resumes. ResReader supports batch uploading up to 10,000 resumes per job.

How It Works

  1. Navigate to your job posting
  2. Click "Upload Resumes"
  3. Select multiple files at once (PDF, DOC, DOCX)
  4. ResReader handles the rest

What Happens Behind the Scenes

  1. Text Extraction — Content is parsed from each resume, including scanned documents
  2. Language Detection — The resume's language is identified automatically
  3. Duplicate Detection — If the same resume exists in another job, existing data is reused to save your scan credits
  4. AI Scoring — Each resume is analyzed against an evaluation profile automatically generated from your job description and your custom prompt. AI assigns each candidate a score from 0 to 10, determines qualification status, and writes a detailed assessment
  5. Skill Normalization — Skills are standardized (e.g., "JS", "JavaScript", and "ECMAScript" are recognized as the same skill)
  6. Completion Notification — You're notified when all resumes have been processed

Results appear as each resume is analyzed — no need to wait for the entire batch.

Step 3: Review & Manage Applications

All candidates appear scored and ranked. You can:

  • Filter — Qualified, Unqualified, or Pending
  • Search — By name or email
  • Sort — By AI score, application date, or default ranking

Candidate Evaluation

After AI analyzes each candidate:

  • Score from 0 to 10 — How well the candidate fits the position
  • Qualified / Unqualified — AI's overall decision
  • Detailed Assessment — Written analysis including strengths and weaknesses

As an employer, you can approve or reject candidates.

Select multiple candidates to:

  • Bulk email — Send custom emails or use templates
  • Bulk rejection — Send professional rejection emails
  • Bulk SMS — Send text messages to candidates
  • Bulk interview invitations — Send AI interview invites
  • Status changes — Approve or reject candidates in bulk

Step 4: AI Interviews

ResReader's AI interview system conducts voice interviews with candidates automatically — no scheduling required.

Setup

  1. Select one or multiple candidates
  2. Choose the interview language
  3. Add up to 5 custom questions
  4. Send the invitation — candidates receive an email with a secure link

How It Works

  • Candidates join through their browser — no app download needed
  • They test their microphone in the interview lobby
  • The AI interviewer asks questions via voice
  • The conversation flows naturally with follow-up questions based on answers
